Classes
The primary focus of The Beat Dance Company is tap dance, a genre that was developed in the U.S. during the 19th century. Tap dance is a percussive dance form that teaches students rhythm, timing, and musicality. From basic steps to complicated patterns, the tap dancer trains not only the body but the ear as well, learning to perform as a both a musician and dancer at the same time!

The Beat Dance Company faculty members believe that students should be well-rounded in dance, and so we are happy to offer a variety of additional dance forms including ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop. Young dancers are invited to try our creative combo class, an introduction to several movement styles including tap, jazz, ballet, and creative movement.
